Roots Survivor is a collection of UK Roots Reggae vocal tracks produced by Martin Campbell and co-arranged by Kendrick Andy. The basic rhythms were recorded at Channel One UK in the late 80s, early 90s.

The tracks featured in this particular collection were voiced during 1993, and all tracks, bar 'Push Come To Shove' were unavailable until 2007 (released that same year on the now deleted first edition vinyl & CD).

Thematically speaking Kendrick continues his long-time lyrical tradition by focusing primarily on spiritual & political themes. Chanting down Babylon, over powerful Hi-Tech Roots' rhythm work, was a potent formula, enthusiastically embraced by his fanbase; with "Push Comes To Shove" being somewhat of an anthem in the Reggae underground.

In 2015 we decided to reissue the collection and asked Alien Dread to remaster all tracks at AD Studio. Compared to the original, this particular mastering, while retaining all that we loved about the original recordings, also served to enhance the punch of the drums and drive the bass, more so.

We consider this release an encapsulation of Kendricks maverick style and he continues to be a unique and eccentric voice in the global Reggae community.
